
MJSSC Recently proposed the idea of a "Pimp My Ride" event to take place this winter season along with their subsidiary organization, Boulder Freeride, incorporated by MJSSC Inc in the spring of 2008 to provide volunteer and outreach opportunites to the snowboard community at CU Boulder. The event will benefit the Boulder Community Hospital. We will post updates as they develop.
The Skinny...
Qualifications. Open to the general public. One winner will be randomly selected to have thier ride become a masterpiece of automotive artwork and snowsports functionality. To qualify, one must donate a vehicle* All donors will receive a minimum $500 tax deduction for their donated vehicle regardless of its condition. Most vehicles will receive an on average $3000 tax deduction can be awarded to parents, friends or family who wish to donate an old vehicle.One "beater" will be randomly selected to be "Pimped"
Big Pimpin' . One winner will be drawn randomly and their "Pimped Ride" will be presented during an event to be held at upcoming ski/snowboard festival this season.
How can I get involved?
We are currently looking for volunteers to man the following committees. Volleys will be comped meals, transportation, gear deals and lift tickets at the festival for their help. If you are interested in volunteering for one of the committees below, pleaese email us at mjssc@mountain-journeys.org and specify which committee you are interesting in getting involved with.
Committees:
1. Sponsors: need good talkers, personable, personalities to call/write various sponsors and visit neighborhood auto body shops etc for sponshorship. We will offer a plug about them on our webpage and on our publications, coupons, etc and radio advertising
2. Media: controls radio and local TV advertising. Places ads in varous newspapers and magazines on campus advertising the event.
3. Events Organizer: places ads for volunteers to help set up the stage and transport the vehicles, gears, and other misc donations to be raffled off at the Boulder Freeride Party. Contacts venue at Aspen during Xgames and organizes time, musical guests, sets up big screen for showing film.
4. Graphic Arts Team - designs logos for publication materials, posters and banners, etc. Works with sponsors to cobrand their logos and marketing materials in our ads. Produces raffle tickets and signage. Produces custom graphics for vehicle interior and body decals.

9. Mechanical (Automotive) Mech Engineers
10. Operations: team to intake the vehicles, sort titles, organize keys and gas, etc. Oversee and troubleshoot any problems. Design and legitimize the random drawing.
11. Productions
* donated vehicles must have a vaild title or donor must obtain a salvage title. The donor will receive an official tax recept to claim any deductions. Vehicles must be in salvageable condition.
