Our Executive Staff...

Todd Towers, BA, MD AE Class of 2003, C.A.S.I. Level I Snowboard Instructo
Founder and Head Snowboard Coach

Todd's passion for snowboarding has brought him to the peaks of Mountain Creek, NJ, Killington and Sugarbush, VT, Stevens pass, WA, Whistler-Blackombe in Whistler,British Columbia, Canada, Mount Baker, WA, and most recently the Summit County Colorado Peaks of Breckenridge, Vail and Keystone. Todd has over 17 years of ski and snowboard experience and is a C.A.S.I Certified snowboard instructor.

Todd has also received EMS training and as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) has worked with EMS at Cornell and NY Hospitals.  He received his bachelors degree from Cornell University in sports nutrition in 1998 and then attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine pursuing his interests in sports medicine before dedicating himself to Mountain Journeys. He recenty has made Summit and Grand County Colorado his home base for scores of freshies and untapped bowls.

While training in Whistler, Todd linked up with Aleisha Cline former Winter X-games winner (see video of Todd's interview with Aleisha). His commitment to health and fitness and passion for snowsports education keeps him very active on the slopes where he trains during the winter season.  Todd is looking forward to seeing MJSSC cross into its permanent charter with an exceptional program for sponsored youth and extends his sincerest gratitude for those who have helped make his program and these clinics possible.

Todd has a lot of experience teaching teens.  He has volunteered his time teaching health in inner city high schools, worked as a coach with Campcare training their volunteer staff, and has since taught principles of mechanics with an ontological and biomedical perspective. The Campcare experience however was truly inspirational, and motivated Todd to start up a similar camp back in the U.S. -- hence Mountain Journeys® came to be.

Our Seasonal Staff...

Mountain Journeys® consistently strives to provide the most positive snowboard clinics in the country. Much of our success is due to the dedication and loyalty of our staff members and their genuine desire to provide sponsorees the most fun experiences possible in a safe and professional environment.
Our staff attend P.S.I.A./A.A.S.I. educational events in an effort to keep up on the latest breakthroughs in providing fun, safe and informative instruction for our campers. All our fulltime instructors attain an A.A.S.I./C.A.S.I. Level 1 certification during their pre-camp training.

All ski and snowboard ability levels are welcome! Before you arrive at camp you tell us what tricks you want to learn, how you want to spend your time on-hill, skills you'd like to focus on, and your current skiing or snowboarding experience. Based on this information sponsorees are placed with a professional coach. Expect to see some of your favorite Mountain Journeys®  tricksters as well as a splash of local talent. Small group size, 4 to 7 campers per instructor, ensures each camper receives individual attention.
Mountain Journeys® coaches are a dedicated crew. Instructors are selected based on their skiing and snowboarding ability (must be above and beyond excellent), coaching skills (they not only need to be the best riders, but know how to share that knowledge), personality (you don't want to hang out with a wet rag all day, do you?), enthusiasm, and overall ability to provide you with a positive, fun, and supportive atmosphere.
