September 15, 2001 - Todd is granted permission to leave his Obstetrics and Gynecology rotation to help victims of the Terrorist attacks of 9/11
October 10, 2001 - Todd takes an indefinete leave of absence from his medical training and takes up vascular research while he consults for a Medical Meeting in Times Square Manhattan for the Department of Interventional Radiology and Endovascular Surgery. Todd completes the manuscript and publishes his work in endovascular surgery in a medical journal.
November 19, 2001 - At the advice of his Dean to join up with the US Military, Todd withdraws completely from his NY Based Medical curriculum to focus his efforts on medical communications and International Health Care Policy.
January 2002 - Aleisha Cline and her husband Shaums March invite Todd to stay with them at their home in the Garibaldi Highlands of British Columbia, Canada.
February 2002 - While training at Whistler-Blackomb, Todd volunteers with CampCARE, a nonprofit foundation, designed to help at risk youth from regions surrounding Whistler, BC.
May 2002 - Todd returns to New York and links up with heads of the department of psychiatry at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair and the Essex County NJ State Psychiatric Ward Psychiatrists to identify patient populations in need of care.
August 2002 - While jotting ideas on loose napkins at a Starbucks in Montclair, NJ Todd carves out what would eventually be the initial program behind Mountain Journeys.
September 2002 - Todd's plans to develop the clinic in Aspen,Colorado are stymied by a series of unfortunate events
October 2002 - The Mountain Journeys Ski and Snowboard Clinic Program is finalized and the website is launched.
November & December 2002 - Todd volunteers his time at the Mountainside Hospital Psychiatric Ward where he sits in on group therapy discussions and helps teens with severe psychiatric disorders.
January 2003 - Todd visits the Mountainside Outpatient Clinic in Glenridge, NJ where he helps counsel adolescent and young adults on the risks of drug abuse and listens to various lectures by medical professionals in mental health.
March of 2003 - Determined to conclude his few remaining degree requirements, Todd links up with a UMNDJ Newark affiliated hospital practice and concludes his medical curriculum with special distinction in medical research. Both his undergraduate and graduate research contributions are published in two globally recognized medical journals, TVIR and Toxicology. At the conclusion of his curriculum, Todd is personally mentored by Dr. Philip Hodges, one of the most prolific and widely published lead researchers in alternative medical modalities and radiology.
May of 2003 - Todd takes some time to decompress and works with underpriveleged teens at the Montclair YMCA where he helps run basketball clinics and strength training courses.
June 2003 - In his spare time, Todd volunteers with the Montclair Ambulance to help teach emergency medical techniques to EMTs and other volunteers while Mountain Journeys fundraising ideas are set in motion.
July 2003 - Todd volunteers a few weeks in the Carrier Clinic near Princeton, NJ. There he works with performing artists from troubled backgrounds.
September 2003 - Todd moves the MJSSC operation to Manhattan, where he helps promote the Dave Matthews free concert in Central Park to raise funds for MJSSC.
October 2003 - Todd meets with Susan Esquilin, Director of the UMDNJ Child and Adolescent Psychiatric program for children who have been subject to abuse
New Years 2004 - Todd volunteers to drive limo for VIP guests of Crow Bar in Manhattan in order to promote and raise funds for MJSSC.
February 2004 - MJSSC plans its first international journey to Mount Tremblant in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, Canada. MJSSC aligns with CASI a nonprofit organization for certifying snowboard instructors, and links up with Elizabeth at the Hostel in St. Jovite to accomodate a group of sponsored kids. MJSSC also hosts a raffle at the Chevy Grand Prix Superpipe Competition at Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, NJ. Hundreds in donated gear from Princeton Ski Shops and TLConsulting are raffled off.
April 2004 - MJSSC holds its first annual Fundraiser Dinner at the Metro Cafe in Manhattan's lower east side. The Metro Cafe generously donates 20% of all proceeds from the dinner to the organization. MJSSC raffles off the remaining donated gear.
April 2004 - MJSSC procures a 4WD Minivan for transporting its kids.
May 2004 - MJSSC runs a cross-country tour, launching fundraisers and recruiting volunteers in Los Angeles, CA, Taos, NM, Boulder, CO, San Francisco, CA, Portland, OR, and Seattle, WA.
June 2004 - MJSSC picks up two more 4WD minivans for its clinic
July 7, 2004 - MJSSC 501c3 Application Submitted to the IRS for Review
August 2004 - MJSSC launches "Mechanics On Call" a program developed to raise funds through emergency road service and repairs
December 9, 2004 - IRS Approves MJSSC as 501c3 Charitable organization and charters the organization through 2008
November 24, 2004 - MJSSC runs its first clinic at Mt. Baker Ski Resort in Washington State
December 15, 2004 - MJSSC procures a 3000sq ft light industrial space in Weehawken, NJ for Ski and Snowboard Gear Restoration and Storage, Vehicle Storage, and instructional workshops.
January 2005 - MJSSC aligns with Princeton Ski Shops, Inc. a major regional retailer of Snowboard Gear and Rentals. A joint newsletter project is carved out for distributing information and seasonal gear sales. Princeton Ski Shops generously donates hundreds in used snowboard gear to our cause.
February 2005 - MJSSC expands its development to procure donated vehicles which are auctioned off to raise funds for its seasonal clinics
May 2005 - MJSSC affiliates with Make A Wish Foundation
September 2005 - MJSSC affiliates with Hudson County Community Health Centers to benefit its patient population of abused and at risk youth
October 2005 - MJSSC begins recruitment in Boulder,CO to run its training camp for the upcoming 2005 winter season
November 2005 - MJSSC links up with Boulder Freeride Organization on Colorado University at Boulder Campus, and possibilities for joint fundraisers to take place in the coming year are carved out
December 2005 - MJSSC gets approved by Board of Directors at Dakota Ridge, an educational program for at risk youth in the Boulder, CO community. Dates for the clinics are carved out for Mid January 2006. Dakota Ridge School for at risk kids was started 10 years ago, and this will be the first clinic of its kind to benefit the kids. These children have been selected for the special course due to their limited academic focus. Barbara Hughes, director of the program, explains that "traumas, and substance abuse are typical issues in these kids. "
January 2006 - MJSSC launches its new website. A new industrial workshop is procured in Superior, CO to accomodate the vehicle donation program and special events preparations.
February 2006 - MJSSC begins an fund for an free camp to at risk youth near South Park, CO. Local Park County and Summit County Real estate agents are called into action as potential land for the future site is surveyed.
April 2006 - MJSSC aligns with the Boulder County Division of Community Service to provide specialized service programs for offenders.
May 2006 - MJAC expands to include large scale, professional classic restorations for select donated vehicles. It aligns with Independant Restorations and Painters Grinding, a Denver based Machine Shop
December 2006 - MJSSC volunteers help run learn to ride snowboard clinics at Eldora Resort in Eldora,CO for Boys and Girls Club of Longmont and Longmont After School Program
New Years 2007 - MJSSC adopts Bud Journeys, a 1 yr old rescued black lab/husky to serve our communities as a therapy dog. Intense training for outdoor search and rescue missions is carved out.
February 2007 - MJSSC sponsors a group of students from Justice High School in Boulder to attend a 5 day learn to ride program at Keystone Resort--special thanks to Mark Lawes and crew for all their participation.
March 2007 - MJSSC hosts a spring training session at Heavenly Resort in Lake Tahoe, CA. Tahoe Punch Fitness, a local club known for their pro rider clientel, generously donates passes to MJSSC for their instructor fitness program
June 2007 - MJAC procures a new workshop to accomodate CU Boulder Student volunteers just off campus on "the hill".
October 2007 - MJSSC procures a new office space and dormitory housing for its volunteers and participants in Summit County
November 2007 - MJSSC attends a snowsports school management conference at Breckenridge CO. Todd links up with several local coaches and special olympics trainers and plans for future outreach clinics for disabled youth are carved out.
January 2008 - MJSSC volunteers help teach a learn to ride program for physically and cognitively disabled youth in Winter Park,CO.
May 2008 - MJSSC carves out plans to hold rock climbing clinics during the summer months for disabled and at risk youth.
September 2008 - MJSSC volunteers help teach a group of disabled youth at Eldorado Canyon in Boulder, CO.
